This distinction qualifies Databuoy to receive the SAFETY Act’s benefits for selected Anti-Terrorism Technologies

Congress enacted the Support Anti-Terrorism by Fostering Effective Technologies (SAFETY) act in 2022, as a response to the need for innovative solutions to counter terrorism following the events of 9/11. The decision-making authority for SAFETY Act applications currently lies with the Acting Under Secretary for Science and Technology.
